In fact civilisations have for centuries been codifying their experiences of nature with the tools available to them. The historian Simon Schama in “Landscape and Memory” writes of landscape as follows:

I have worked in innovative ways over a period of some years, combining digital technologies (3D and 2D) with conventional printmaking processes and photography.
